These blend with the lilting keyboards of Sara McGuinness over the solid foundation of bassist Jimmy Martinez, Lilli Ahvenian on Congas and Ernesto Marichales on drums. When the occasion allows, Grupo Lokito expands to include the blistering horn section of Deanna Wilhelm on trumpet, Clare Hirst on sax and Landy Díaz on trombone. Since the band formed in 2006, Grupo Lokito have toured the UK extensively. We like to reach all audiences and are equally happy in a large concert hall, such as the South Bank Centre, The Sage, or a small community centre. Grupo Lokito are popular at Festivals and have played to thousands at WOMAD, African Oyé, and the EFG London Jazz Festival. Grupo Lokito are famed for their wild dance moves: wowing audiences and filling dance floors wherever they play. |
