DescriptionDoors and bar open 7pm for an 7.30pm start. Brunei Gallery Lecture Theatre (BGLT) The Third Orchestra is delighted to welcome Delbert Anderson for his first appearance with the ensemble and his London debut. Anderson, a Diné jazz trumpet player based in Farmington, New Mexico, roots his compositions in sacred Navajo spinning songs. For Anderson, music is a practice of restoring Hózhó, the Navajo concept of beauty, balance, and harmony. Directed by Peter Wiegold, Third Orchestra tonight brings together musicians from China, India, Syria, Slovakia, Spain, the UK jazz and classical scene, and the ancient tradition of the hurdy-gurdy. The concert will include a piece from Third Orchestra's Yet There Is Time, a work by Anderson, and new music co-created in the spirit of the programme. Third Orchestra: The Healing Circle evokes an unexpected spiral of musical worlds, transformative and restorative.
